Ordering & Process
No. You can create a patient account and order your test directly through the MyMycoLab patient portal. No physician referral is required.
Go to mymycolab.com, select “Sign Up,” and register as a patient. Use the “Order a Test” option to have a test kit shipped directly to you.
During registration, select the “Clinician” option from the dropdown. This gives you access to the provider portal where you can register your patients, order test kits, and view results. A step-by-step Clinician Guide is included with your registration.
Test Kits ship within 24–48 hours of order placement. Orders placed on weekends ship the following Monday.
The Test costs $380 for the full panel of 28 results — IgG and IgE antibodies to 14 mycotoxins. International return shipping is not included in the price.

Blood Draw & Preparation
No. Serum antibody testing for mycotoxins does not require fasting.
Immunosuppressant drugs, corticosteroids, and chemotherapeutic drugs should be discontinued 6–8 weeks before testing, as they can suppress antibody production and cause false negative results. Other medications and supplements do not affect antibody testing.

Mycotoxin testing is available for individuals aged 2 years and older.
Yes. Blood draws can be performed in your office, or you can direct patients to external phlebotomy options. If drop-shipping kits directly to patients, we will ensure they receive the phlebotomist instructions included in the kit.
Results & Reports
Approximately 14 business days from the day the lab receives your serum sample. You’ll receive an email notification when results are ready.

No. Expedited results are not available. MyMycoLab tests IgG and IgE antibodies to 14 different mycotoxins for a panel of 28 results, with each mycotoxin individually validated. This takes time and precision to complete.

The test is quantitative. It shows the quantity of immune reactivity to each of the 14 mycotoxins, with numerical values plotted against a reference range scale.

Testing Methodology
Blood serum antibody testing is the most accurate method available for mycotoxin exposure. Urine tests detect mycotoxin metabolites, which can come from normal food intake and are found in the urine of healthy people. The CDC has noted limitations of urine-based mycotoxin testing for clinical diagnosis.
MyMycoLab tests blood serum for IgG and IgE antibodies measuring your immune system’s response to mycotoxin exposure rather than traces of toxin metabolites that may reflect food intake. This is especially important for mycotoxins like ochratoxin A, which is virtually undetectable in urine because 99.8% binds to albumin in the blood.
IgG antibodies indicate an existing immune reaction to a mycotoxin, reflecting the body’s current burden. IgG can also indicate colonization from a previous exposure. IgE antibodies indicate current active exposure. Elevated IgE to mycotoxins may cause mast cells to release histamine and pro-inflammatory cytokines, potentially leading to mast cell activation.
A small percentage of people may have mycotoxin antibodies and feel normal. Most will feel ill. This is different from viruses, where many people carry antibodies without symptoms. This is not typically the case with toxins.
Each mycotoxin antigen is validated individually (not in sets) according to the highest standards. Each mycotoxin is validated against its own standard to ensure accuracy of reference ranges.
The test measures IgG and IgE antibodies to 14 mycotoxins, producing 28 individual data points from a single blood draw. It shows whether your immune system has recognized and responded to specific mycotoxin exposure.
